Titles of the Holy Spirit*

In these verses, the Holy Spirit is referred to or named in various ways.. Although these titles are all different, yet they are all talking about the same Holy Spirit. Let this study serve as a catalyst for you to study further to determine from the context of the verses why the Holy Spirit has revealed Himself in these particular Names.
You will need a concordance, either hardbound or electronic, to look up the verses containing these titles and see what they have in common.
I did not include every verse containing "The Spirit of God" for example, because there are 25 of them found all over the Bible, from Genesis to First John.
Then you will need to compare the verses containing "The Spirit of the Lord God" compare them among themselves, and then compare them with the group from "The Spirit of God", and so on through all the groups. Admittedly this could be a massive study, but in the end you will have learned so much about the Holy Spirit that you would never know any other way.

THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD GOD (Isa 61:1-2 KJV)
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me;

to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
{2} To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God;

THE SPIRIT OF YOUR FATHER (Mat 10:19-20 KJV)
But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak:
for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.
{20} For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
THE SPIRIT OF GRACE (Zec 12:10 KJV)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the spirit of grace and of supplications:
and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced,
and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son,
and shall be in bitterness for him,
as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
(John 14:16-17 KJV)
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever;
{17} Even the Spirit of truth;
whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him:
but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS
(Rom 1:3-5 KJV)
Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
{4} And declared to be the Son of God with power,
according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
{5} By whom we have received grace and apostleship,
for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
THE SPIRIT OF LIFE
(Rom 8:2-3 KJV)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
{3} For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh:
THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST
(Rom 8:9-11 KJV)
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit,
if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
{10} And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
{11} But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,
he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies
by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION
(Rom 8:15-16 KJV)
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear;
but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
{16} The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
THE SPIRIT OF HIS SON
(Gal 4:6-7 KJV)
And because ye are sons,
God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
{7} Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son;
and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
THE SPIRIT OF GLORY
(1 Pet 4:14 KJV)
If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;
for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you:
on their part he is evil spoken of,
but on your part he is glorified.
THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
(Rev 19:9-10 KJV)
And he saith unto me, Write,
Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
{10} And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me,
See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus:
worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
MY SPIRIT
(Gen 6:3 KJV)
And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man,
for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
(Psa 51:11 KJV)
Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy holy spirit from me.
THE FREE SPIRIT
(Psa 51:12 KJV)
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free spirit.
THE COMFORTER
(John 14:16-17 KJV)

THE ETERNAL SPRIT
(Heb 9:14 KJV)
How much more shall the blood of Christ,
who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God,
purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
