Give me O Lord, I pray TheeFirm faith, unwavering hopePerfect charity.Pour into my heartThe Spirit of wisdom and understandingThe Spirit of counsel and spiritual strengthThe Spirit of knowledge and true godlinessAnd the Spirit of Thy holy fearLight eternal, shine in my heartPower eternal, deliver me from evilWisdom eternal, scatter the darkness of my ignoranceMight eternal, pity meGrant that I may ever seek Thy faceWith all my heart and soul and strength;And, in my infinite mercy,Bring me at last to Thy holy presenceWhere I shall behold Thy gloryAnd possess Thy promised joys.
