PRODUCT REVIEW: Astor Custom Fit Outdoor Armchair Cover

I received this free product from the company in exchange for writing a review on my blog.

I am not being compensated any further. The company's links are at the bottom of this post.

We had a freeze a few days after this showed up, so it never went on a chair, but it saved my plants!!

Now... until the rain stops, (I live in SC and we've had PLENTY over a month), this will be covering my stack of chair cushions I had to put outside to air out that I picked up at someone's home that I cleaned out.

As Spring starts coming back around, I will use it on the side porch chair (made of aluminum and wood slats) when I set it back out. This will keep the dampness off and will prevent it from mildewing.

It's really easy to work with and move around, and the bottoms fit around, stay in place, and are easily manipulated.

Great product!

Product Description

Rain, snow, ice, sun, wind and mold are no match for this rugged fabric protector - with its snug, adjustable fit, it will keep your outdoor armchair safe, clean and dry all year round.

4 Season Fabric

Double your peace of mind with two levels of protection: an outer surface that sheds precipitation and won't crack in cold temperatures, plus a PVC undercoating that stops water in its tracks. This heavy-duty material is sewn with strong, interlocking seams to withstand years of wear and tear.

Failsafe Fit

No matter how the wind blows, you can be sure this cover won't be going anywhere. Built into the hem is an elasticized cord with toggle stop that you tighten under the bottom edges of the seat. Then for good measure, straps at each corner wrap around the chair's legs and secure in place with a one-click buckle. Your chair is completely protected, not just from above but also from any water that might splash up from the ground.

Wind and Moisture Control

Mesh air vents prevent condensation from building up under the cover, so mold and mildew never get a chance to grow. The vents also help reduce ballooning caused by wind gusts. But while they allow the air to circulate, their overlapping edges keep everything else out.

Easy to Put On and Take Off

Sturdy, padded handles let you simply slide the cover into place, then pull it off whenever you want to enjoy your outdoor living space again.

3 Year Warranty

The sturdy, reliable service of this chair cover is backed by a full 3 year warranty against damage by dry rot, sun exposure, mold or mildew. Your lounge or patio chair will come out from under cover looking as good as it did when it went in!

Dr. Weil's Multi-Grain Scones

Mmmmm, ran across Dr. Weil's Multi-Grain Scones recipe again!

Multi-Grain Scones
10 Scones

These scones are the perfect answer for the morning rush! Unlike a lot of low fat foods, which can be so loaded with sugar that you feel hungry soon after eating them, these are quite filling -- you can eat just half of one and still satisfy the need for morning sustenance. Plus, you'll get in a nice amount of bran for the day, an appropriate source of roughage.

Ingredients:
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
5 tablespoons grapeseed or expeller-pressed canola oil
1/8 teaspoon lemon zest
1/2 cup oatmeal (not instant)
1/4 cup wheat bran
1 1/2 cups unbleached white flour
2 tablespoons millet
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup milk

Lemon Topping:
3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/4 cup confectioners sugar

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Whisk the egg, sugar, and oil together in a bowl. Mix the lemon zest and all of the dry ingredients together in a separate bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until all of them are evenly dispersed throughout. Slowly add the dry ingredients into the egg, sugar, and oil, and mix to create a thick dough. Add the milk and mix well.

3. Lightly grease a baking pan. Scoop up tablespoonfuls of the dough and drop them one by one in mounds onto the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches of space between. You should have about 10 scones. Bake for 15-20 minutes, just until the crust is barely golden brown and the dough is dry. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes. With a fork mix the Lemon Topping ingredients until the sugar is completely melded in. Drizzle 1 tablespoon ever each scone.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Delicates Laundry Zip-close Bags, by Inside Smarts, set of 4

BOTTOM PHOTOS ARE BORROWED

Each bag zips and unzips smoothly, they stay CLOSED when in the washer and dryer, and nothing got snagged, torn, no strings getting caught up in all my other clothing!! It was nice!
The delicates did get washed and rinsed well while inside the bag. These are great :)

I may use one of the bags specifically for shoes and the like in the future... Zach has some muddy ones outside.

I also gave a bag to my mother next door, as she is in the habit of washing delicates by hand.
