This is the teen-advice book called The Truth about Dating, Love and Just Being Friends, by Chad Eastham.

My son will be turning 14 on the 8th, so I am going to read thru this in the next two weeks and then hand it over to him so he can learn from it. I will submit my review in 2 weeks (and I secretly hope he will read it and give me a review as well!) : )

I have been slightly 'slack' at keeping up with this blog the last week because I was out of town and brought home a sinus infection! Oh joy! Not feeling up to par, so I will be back when I can!

She is such a regular person, not full of herself like other actors. She has a beautiful heart and soul. It doesn't hurt that she's beautiful on the outside, either.

Here, we see Miss Bullock with her adopted son Louis, who turns one this month. She's in NY to shoot "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" with Tom Hanks.

She looked amazing on Sunday at the Golden Globes, and admitted she was "having trouble" being away from her little guy for the first time but with "modern technology," she could still "see him". You have Skype and iChat and things like that. Every five minutes my phone goes off with pictures, documentation. He's got the iPad and the iPhone and the computer with iChat."

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin'' I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven.'

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am w orth it.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Last night and today's meals, prepared ahead of time so I can just makes sides for them this week : )

Last night I made a (2 lb) beef roast with a jar of peperocini peppers & it's liquid... Cooked it in the slow cooker on low for 8 hrs and pulled it apart with a fork. When we're ready to eat it this week, we'll set some on a sesame seed bun with some fresh sliced swiss... mmmMMMM!! (idea is from "A Year of Slow Cooking".) Can be served with mac-n-chz or mashed taters.

Today in the crockpot is a pork tenderloin, cut to fit, with 1 Tbsp garlic pepper spice, 1/2 tsp (kosher or sea)salt... cook on low 6 hours, add jar of BBQ sauce and a tsp of seasoning salt, cook two more hours. Pull apart and eat on onion buns with slaw : ) Can be served with sweet potatoes fries or raw cauliflower and dip.

Congrats to Teresa Scanlan of Nebraska, Crowned Miss America 2011 Winner

Teresa Scanlan is more than the latest Miss America pageant winner. She’s also a maker of history.

The 17-year old from Gering, Nebraska was named the youngest champion of all-time on Saturday night, earning the crown by performing “White Water Chopsticks” on the piano. She was the only contestant to neither sing nor dance.

A graduate of Scottsbluff High School, Scanlan has earned a $50,000 scholarship and will attend Patrick Henry College in the fall.

During her year-long tenure, Teresa said her main focus will be on eating disorders and how they affect her generation. If she can’t fulfill her duties, the runner-up (Miss Arkansas, Alyse Eady) will take over.
